Hand Sewn Norigae Keychains

with Lanie Cheatham

In this hand-sewing workshop, you will learn how to create norigae, a traditional Korean accessory. Norigae (노리개) loosely translates to “playful trinkets,” and is used as both decorative charm and protective ornament.

Embodying the essence of reuse, we will use fabric scraps and vintage thread to create a keychain. You can choose between the traditional triangle shape, fish, cat, or butterfly and will learn basic hand stitches to stitch your good luck charm.

Lanie is a Korean American arts educator with a passion for upcyling. Catch her sewing quilts and teaching classes at Quilting for Community in the valley.
