For independent curators that do not fall under one of the categories listed previously.
For individual artists hosting an open studio or presenting their own work. This tier is limited to solo practices with no employees. It is not available to design studios, brands, galleries, retailers, agencies, collectives, or other businesses. Solo businesses should select the For-Profit, 1–9 Employees tier.
For buildings made up primarily of independent artists renting individual studios and participating together at one address.
This registration includes one building-wide LAD/W listing featuring all participating artists. It is not available to buildings primarily occupied by design studios, brands, galleries, retailers, agencies, or other for-profit businesses. Participants requesting separate event listings must register individually.
For buildings presenting five to ten for-profit businesses, showrooms, design studios, galleries, retailers, agencies, or other commercial tenants together at one address.
This registration includes one coordinated building listing featuring all participating businesses. Buildings with fewer than five participating businesses should purchase individual registrations and may request to be grouped under one building listing.
For galleries and other spaces interested in hosting a LAD/W Open Call exhibition at little or no cost. LAD/W will match selected spaces with an exhibition and guest curator.
There is no application fee for this option. If you later decide to host your own exhibition or event instead, the corresponding host fee will apply.

LAD/W Code of Conduct
LA Design Week/end exists to make design and art more accessible, bring people together, and create opportunities for the creative community. We want participating in LAD/W to feel exciting, collaborative, and genuinely fun.
We keep participation costs low so that independent artists, designers, and small studios can be part of the week/end. That also means LAD/W operates with a small team and a limited budget. We are all doing our best, and we ask that our hosts, artists, partners, and guests approach one another with patience, flexibility, and respect.
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone who takes part in LAD/W, including hosts, venues, artists, partners, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and guests, both at LAD/W events and in LAD/W communications such as email, group chats, and social media. It is in addition to, and does not replace, the LAD/W Terms of Use (including the Event Participation Terms and Host Participation Terms) and Privacy Policy. For hosts, this Code is part of the Host requirements referenced in the Host Participation Terms. If this Code and the Terms of Use conflict, the Terms of Use control.
By participating in LAD/W, you agree to:
Treat LAD/W staff, volunteers, venues, artists, fellow hosts, vendors, and attendees with kindness and professionalism.
Communicate clearly and respectfully, especially when plans change or problems arise.
Respect shared spaces, schedules, boundaries, and the work of others.
Help create an environment free from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats, and abusive behavior.
Take responsibility for your event, installation, guests, and any commitments you make as a participant, including making sure your staff and collaborators follow this Code.
Follow the reasonable instructions of LAD/W staff, venue staff, security, and emergency personnel.
Raise concerns directly and constructively so we have an opportunity to address them.
We understand that producing events is stressful and that things do not always go according to plan. Frustration is normal. Disrespectful, hostile, discriminatory, unsafe, or repeatedly disruptive behavior is not.
If you experience or witness conduct that goes against this Code, please let the event host or LAD/W staff know, or email us at howdy@ladesignweekend.com. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.
LAD/W reserves the right to warn or remove any host, artist, guest, or project from an event, exhibition, or the festival roster, and to decline future participation, if their conduct compromises the safety, comfort, or collaborative spirit of the week/end. Any removal under this policy will be handled in accordance with the LAD/W Terms of Use, and removal does not create a right to a refund of tickets or participation fees.
In short: we are all working hard to make something special with limited resources. Please bring good intentions, be kind, and help us keep LAD/W welcoming and accessible to everyone.
