LAD/W Code of Conduct
LA Design Week/end exists to make design and art more accessible, bring people together, and create opportunities for the creative community. We want participating in LAD/W to feel exciting, collaborative, and genuinely fun.
We keep participation costs low so that independent artists, designers, and small studios can be part of the week/end. That also means LAD/W operates with a small team and a limited abudget. We are all doing our best, and we ask that our hosts, artists, partners, and guests approach one another with patience, flexibility, and respect.
By participating in LAD/W, you agree to:
Treat LAD/W staff, volunteers, venues, artists, fellow hosts, vendors, and attendees with kindness and professionalism.
Communicate clearly and respectfully, especially when plans change or problems arise.
Respect shared spaces, schedules, boundaries, and the work of others.
Help create an environment free from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats, and abusive behavior.
Take responsibility for your event, installation, guests, and any commitments you make as a participant.
Raise concerns directly and constructively so we have an opportunity to address them.
We understand that producing events is stressful and that things do not always go according to plan. Frustration is normal. Disrespectful, hostile, discriminatory, unsafe, or repeatedly disruptive behavior is not.
LAD/W reserves the right to remove any host, artist, guest, or project from an event, exhibition, or the festival roster if their conduct compromises the safety, comfort, or collaborative spirit of the week/end. Any removal under this policy will be handled in accordance with LAD/W’s participation terms.
In short: we are all working hard to make something special with limited resources. Please bring good intentions, be kind, and help us keep LAD/W welcoming and accessible to everyone.
