PorchFest LA

PorchFestLA

Porchfest LA is a 100% free performance art festival that welcomes residents to turn their porches into performance spaces for members of the community. We welcome all kinds of performers – music, performance art, stand-up, story-telling, clowning, and more can all be found at Porchfest LA!

PorchFest started in Ithaca, New York, 2007, after a conversation between Fall Creek & Northside area neighbors, Gretchen Hildreth & Lesley Greene, who were inspired by outdoor music in their community & has since spread to hundreds of communities across the United States and Canada.

PorchFest L.A. started in 2014, by Helene Udy, who holds several outdoor community performances in Los Feliz was inspired by the original PorchFest & jumped on the idea of starting one here, in Los Angeles. 1735 N Normandie Ave Apartments is one of several locations hosting performers out front of the building, as well as, opening it’s doors to view the original Assemblage Art on all 3 floors of the building, Saturday (11:AM - 5:PM) & Sunday (11:AM - 5:PM).

Please come for either the Art, the Performances or Both. Performances will be happening all around the East Hollywood, Los Feliz & Silver Lake area, & you are welcome to them all for free, & free to choose which one’s you’ll like to attend. Parking is not all that great (it’s L.A. 😆), so walking it, bussing it, ride sharing it, scootering it, bicycling it, skateboarding it or whatever clever way you can think of is best. It helps to bring a portable chair, snacks & hydration (food & beverage are not expected to be provided & weather is very un predictable this time of year. Please check weather updates to adjust accordingly & possibly bringing sun, wind and/or rain protection). ‘See y’all there! Enjoy!
